Choosing a Skilled Nursing Facility

A skilled nursing care facility may be needed if you or your family member requires 24-hour nursing care or assistance with meals, personal hygiene, and/or medications. Skilled nursing may also be necessary for those who require more help than present caregivers can provide, or if he/she can no longer live alone.

When looking for superior nursing care for yourself or a loved one, Forest View Center is the ideal choice for both short-term and long-term nursing care needs. As a skilled nursing/sub-acute care facility, we combine advanced nursing competency with kind, compassionate care. All our services are delivered with a steadfast commitment to health, healing, and unparalleled attention to our patients’ diverse needs.

Our nursing staff is on-site around the clock, and we have a comprehensive, dynamic team of MD specialists on-call 24 hours a day. Our “environment of excellence” ensures that all our patients, as well as their families, are cared for with the utmost dignity and respect. We work closely with each patient’s family and his/her physician to tailor an individualized  treatment plan, providing the specialized services they need to recover quickly and safely.

Skilled Nursing @ Forest View

Upon admission, each patient receives an individualized treatment program which addresses his/her unique medical needs. Skilled nursing services at Forest View can include:

Wound Care

Our wound care programs have an enviable record in infection prevention, healing of decubiti, and promotion of skin integrity for even the most compromised patients.

We provide a premier standard of wound care for our patients, with comprehensive programs that support health and healing and focus on all medical, nutritional, and pain management elements of patient recovery. Our experienced staff utilizes specialized treatments, whirlpool therapies, and state-of-the-art equipment to help all our patients heal comfortably.

Whether post-surgery, or with severe decubiti and/or other lesions, patients receive the intensive care they need to recover quickly and safely.

Intravenous Therapy

We feature on-site intravenous hydration, antibiotic, and pain therapy. Intravenous therapy (IV therapy) ensures that the body obtains an adequate supply of vitamins, minerals, and medication to enable proper functioning and healing of cells.

With on-site IV therapy available, patients  experience shorter and fewer hospital stays and a superior continuum of care.

Trans Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)

Trans parenteral nutrition (TPN), peripheral parenteral nutrition (PPN), and gastronomic tube feeding are provided under the direct supervision of nutritionists and pharmacists.

Our licensed staff administers feeding solutions in accordance with each patient’s nutritional and medical needs.

Traumatic Brain Injury/Comatose Care

We can provide skilled, compassionate care for patients with traumatic-brain-injuries, as well as those in a comatose or semi-comatose state.

Consultations by our expert medical specialists and neuro-psychologists are provided, and each patient’s progress is closely monitored.

As needed and by arrangement, hemodialysis can be provided at nearby dialysis centers.

We coordinate the patient’s treatment with the dialysis center and monitor all aspects of his/her care. Special emphasis is placed on health, wellness, and nutrition throughout the period of dialysis treatment.

Nursing Rehabilitation

Our dedicated staff is specially trained to help patients who experience limitations in mobility and cannot get out of bed and/or walk on their own. Special attention is given to each patient to ensure that he/she maintains a level of consistent physical activity which is safe and comfortable.

Respite Program and Hospice Care

Hospice Care

Although death is a natural part of life, the thought of dying understandably still frightens many people. Hospice care emphasizes all aspects of our patients’ well-being: physical, social, emotional, and spiritual. With our team of professionals - including social workers, grief counselors, chaplains, and volunteers - we provide comfort for those with life-limiting illnesses and valuable support for their families.

Our hospice care program allows our patients to spend their final days in a comfortable environment - surrounded by the ones they love the most. This approach to end-of-life care gives families the ability to more fully focus on their loved one. Our hospice team develops a care plan tailored to each patient's individual need for pain management and symptom relief. They also provide all the necessary medications, therapies, medical supplies, and equipment to best meet the patient’s needs.

The Forest View hospice team:

  • Is on-call 24 hours a day.
  • Coordinates the patient’s plan of care.
  • Ensures adequate pain and symptom control.
  • Is there to address any questions or concerns.
  • Is there to offer emotional support to patients and families.

Seeking hospice and palliative care isn’t about giving up hope or hastening death, but rather a way to get the most appropriate care in the last phase of life. With us, families can find comfort in knowing that their loved one is receiving the best possible care from an expert hospice team.

Respite Program

A short-term respite stay with us is a welcome option when planned or unforeseen circumstances require caregivers to seek temporary senior care. A respite stay can offer family members the extra security of skilled nursing assistance during an illness or rehabilitation following a hospital visit. It may even be helpful before, during, or after an emergency affecting the senior’s home environment, such as an extreme weather event.

Our dedicated, well-trained staff is available 24-hours a day and can provide personal assistance with daily needs such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. Our staff can also assist with eating, mobility, and medication management. Respite program guests and their families can feel confident knowing that, should the need arise, participants can move seamlessly into emergency care.

Respite stay guests are invited to experience many of the services and amenities available to our residents. Guests can interact with others having similar experiences, participate in activities designed to match personal abilities and needs, and spend time in a safe, supportive environment.
